Hey,

I was waiting for the new macbooks to release, as they have today i went to buy one and have seen the horrible prices they want for out dated hardware and so am unprepared to buy one, im selling my white macbook on for £400 whilst it still has value and saving the money for an ipad or something else if i can decide i dont want OSX, so basically im looking for a netbook to use over my last 4 weeks at university which i would use my macbook for, basically this is just word processing.

Need good battery, cheap is essential since i will sell it on after a month or two unless i really like it. Also if its possible to get one that can run OSX then that would be amazing since thats the only reason i buy mac's.

Thanks for any help !

Your best bet is to look around your town classies for a used acerOne or eeeeeeePC...MSI has the wind. New ones cost 300 US here typically and for the most part they're all the same. For ease of use try and find one with an SSD, although resale for that might be harder because people think 120gb is soooo much better than an 8GB SSD because 120gb is bigger duh! But for your schoolwork and quick boot/load times I think it's worth looking for!

Best of luck

You might just be better to keep the current laptop you have before buying a new one for such a short period in time.

Those netbooks are sooooo useful if you have to take notes or use it on the run.

I would recommend looking on ebay for an Asus 900A if you don't mind a small keyboard - those are Atom driven and you can pick one up for under $200. You need to add the cache program FlashFire to make these drives work reasonably fast without stuttering.

If you want something bigger, then the Asus 1000H is great and pretty fast- but heavier and bigger to carry around.

I have used both, and I loved them both - with a few important tweaks to make them move fast. Both are easy to sell on Ebay.

Im not saying its useful or not, actually I'll be buying one pretty soon. Though for 4 weeks might might take a week, maybe more to get it unless you can pick it up in store and then you'll only have a good 2-3 weeks of use. It seems wasteful to do such a thing.

Might as well stick out and use the macbook for that period of time if its been suiting you well. Otherwise you'll be throwing money away on taxes and/or shipping.
