O.K., I'm an idiot, but how do you install the motherboardmonitor file ? All I get when I download the file is a file of unknown extension and no right click install option. Is this some kind of cruel joke ? Awaiting enlightenment..

I just did. It's not an .exe file. It'll open up as gibberish in wordpad, but refuses to do anything else. Under properties, it's identified as "file". It's not a .zip file. Should it be ?

Should be an .exe (Executable) extension its for a setup.

Just downloaded SisSandra, and it looks the same as the Motherboard Monitor file. Obviously, my computers gone wonky, but everything is functioning well w/o apparent problems. Do have winzip installed, too. This is really weird. Anybody have a clue ?

it sound to me like the file doesn't have an extension. A file extension is the three character line after the '.' in a file name (exe, bat, inf, ETC.). Try renaming it from 'motherboardwhatever' to 'motherboardwhatever.exe'. Where motherboardwhatever is obviously the actual name of the file. To do this, you have to make sure no stupid Windows options are prohibiting you from seeing the full file name. So go to tools>folder options>view, and disable the hide extensions for known file types checkbox.

Thanks, that did it. Reget junior 2.0 was stripping the file extensions off of my downloads, but renaming them brought them right up. Thanks for solving a vexing problem so rapidly..
