Alien vs Predator Classic $1.99 @ Steam

I am a huge fan of the two Alien movies, so I went out and bought the original for full price when it was released. I enjoyed it, but, then, I liked the old Aliens mod for Doom and seriously debated buying an Atari Jaguar just for AvP, so my opinion may not count for much. :)

I have not played it in a long time, and, even then, the game seemed kind of dated. For me, though, it was awesome playing as a marine and having the motion detector go off or playing as an alien and sneaking up on unsuspecting marines. I never cared much for playing as a predator, though. It also looks like they added multiplayer support back into the latest Steam release.

Edit: I forgot about the limited number of saves per level. That was terrible back when the game came out. If that is still in the Steam version, then I am less thrilled to see this re-release.

i'm kind of getting the feeling that alot of people arent liking it because they have been spoiled by this new tech stuff.

i've never played it since when it came out i was busy playing UT stuff but ever since the demo came out for the new game every one i talked to about it talk about how the origonal was so awsome

AvP2 is the only real alien game worth getting, it still makes me jump out of my seat as a marine ;) Well worth it if that comes on steam!

Got it, and ofcourse it's sitting there at 99% downloaded :/ Got it on CD a while ago, thought it was ok, was worth $2 because I lost the cd and this way it's linked to my steam account.

Ugh! I jumped on the $1.99 deal thinking it a no-brainer. The years have not been as kind to that game as my memory was.

Sigh. I do have AvP2, so I can just pull it off the shelf.
