Sounds like either a power supply issue or bad RAM. To test your RAM, download and run Docmem (http://bootdisk.com/dosfiles/docm145a.exe) to make a RAM test boot disk. if it can't get through more than two loops consistantly, then you've found your problem.
Do you know what your voltages look like?

the board sets the ram automatically, so i dont have to worry about it if i overclock.....but i havnt changed it, so whatever pc2100 ram is at stock speed. im at school, so ill d/l that when i get home and test, thanks dude

Random restarts can also be caused by overheating....

Not sure if this will help ya, but I had the same problem for awhile. When all else failed I moved the hard drive so it had room to "breath". I know shame on me... this was when I was banging on the keyboard in frustration rather than trying to solve anything! That happened a about 2 1/2 years ago. ;)

Try moving the HD around, mine was very hot because it was between the floppy and my 2nd HD. I moved the HD and rearranged the cables for some airflow and it never happened again.

Now whenever I am building a system or working my own I always make sure all excess cables are tied and out of the way.

Like I said, might not help... just thought I would mention my past follies. :D

its the RAM, play around with them - take one out and see if it still restarts

I'd say it is probably overheating- your temps do look pretty good, but we all know how worthless temps from the in-socket thermistor are.

Lemme put it this way- Your Tbird is running cooler than my Celeron, at nearly twice the speed. That can't be right, I don't see any pelts or anything! Unless you live in a refridgerator.:):)

That's funny, i had the same problem with windows XP. The box is fine with linux, win98, beos, and winNT4, but would randomly reboot with XP...

I uninstalled XP and it solved my problem. Too bad though, i really like XP!!

It might be heating, but i'm not sure about that. Is it a LEGAL copy of whatever it is that you're running? I tried a cr4cked copy of 98 and it restarted alot too.
