was browsing the forum and thought that i should bench my ssd to see how it's doing, but i ended up being shock as if my drive was decaying faster than expected.

are you using standard ms ahci sata driver?

And is that a Gen 1 or Gen 2 drive? and if gen 2 are you using windows 7? The drive may not be TRIM'd....if your using Gen 1 or windows XP/vista google tony trim and try that.

That screen shot shows everything..

1. He is in IDE mode that needs to change to AHCI.
2. Its a G2 as it states that in the device line.

Not sure if that firmware has TRIM or not though.. that may be the issue.

i updated the firmware to the trim one when i got it. I did a registry edit earlier today to get achi up ill brb to see how it runs

How long is that test supposed to take? I canceled mine after 20 minutes as it was only part way through the 2nd test.

For SSD it should take only a few min if that. For a mechanical HDD it can take far longer. in the 20-30min range easily.

As for the drive, while it might look slower its not wearing out. It just needs to erase data before its being writen to again thats why the writes are slower. Though the reads should be similar to brand new drives. That seems off.

I'll have to test my drives again but they wheren't degrading earlier this year when I tested last. As well they are using the Non-Trim firmware from when I got mine shipped back in October.
