View Full Version : My 4k-64Thrd are horribly low? (AS SSD bench)

I've seen a few other benchmarks of this same drive where the 4k-64Thrd Read times were ~ 142MB/s, whereas mine is a palty 14 MB/s. What might be wrong with my drive? I'm using default Win7-64x drivers in AHCI mode. I'm not sure if anything has been "trimmed" up yet. I have these drives on the Marvell SATA3 ports instead of the Intel ports since I figured that would be faster/better. (Asus P6X58D Premium)

Thanks for the help!

It sort of looks like it isn't doing NCQ. Switch back to the Intel ports. Nothing beats Intel drivers with Intel ports for Intel SSDs. In a recent TechReport article they manage to cut 18 seconds of a level load time for the X25-M by switching to Intel AHCI drivers.

Is there a way to tell if NCQ is on before I switch ports and drivers?

I must say that I can't think of any program that can tell if NCQ is being used except indirectly through benchmarks. Maybe the Intel SSD Toolbox can help, it can give lots of info about the SSD.
