I guess I'm missing something in config (or else).... But it just can't detect any of the old IDE device (e.g. DVD ROM, HDD)?! I did make sure the onboard IDE channel is enabled, power is connected, and so is secure the cable, etc. But no matter what, the mobo just could see any IDE device.....

what did I do wrong....?? is there anything special to do for the mobo to boot/detect IDE devices??

Did you make sure it is on the master select jumper and using the master connector on the ribbon?

Sometimes Gigabyte gets funky if you do not make sure of that.
