Hello again,

My newest question is about the reliability, or at least your opinions of, water cooling websites. After doing a little pricing for my components, it appears that both performance-pcs and petras are about the same in price, but which one is the most reliable in terms of support, shipping, etc. I have only had dealings with newegg so this is a first for me.

Thank you for your input.

of those 2 stores i have only dealt with petra's tech shop. i think i've placed about 5 orders and all were great.

that being said they are merging from what i last heard so they may take a bit longer, but maybe not. i would still go with petra's personally.

EDIT: the 4th EarthDog was thinking of was sidewinders :)

if we are listing top shops, then my 3 are jabtech, petras and sidewinders. (i think the last 2 are joining forces)

Its was petras!!! Though i have not had a bad experience at sidewinder... just forgot about that one.

Petras is the king. Petra (Alex) is doing fine. Quoc is okay too. But Sidewinders is taking over logistics so stuff won't ship from Cali anymore. Not sure what the final issue is.

Alex (met him twice) is a great gentle amazing guy. Alex's wife got a job (pays the bills) at Skunk Works, how cool is that so they moved. Quoc held the store down.

So we dunno.

Sidewinders (Gary) is a great guy and called me once to make sure the order was right, they are top notch folks there.

I also have dealt with Jab Tech and they are good.

A few others on the side.

1 Petras
2 Sidewinder
3 Jab Tech
4 Performance PCs, they have a LOT LOT of modding stuff. They seemed okay too.

http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/index.php He doesn't carry a vast range of stock but will get you what you want at a good price

https://www.aquatuning.co.uk/index....mpleted&amt=8.73&cc=GBP&cm=98394&item_number= Based in Germany so it can take up to a week for parts to arrive in the UK. Vast stock which does include a lot of crap. I returned a product that turned out to be be the wrong one (my mistake), not only did they refund the cost and original P&P they also refunded the cost of me sending it back to them, slightly gobsmacked by that as I was expecting to pay a restocking fee.

http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/catalog/contact_us.php Reasonable range of stock. Slightly annoyed with them for changing the specification of the tubing I've been using for some poor quality crap without mentioning it on the website. That's just a slight glitch though.

http://www.scan.co.uk/ I've bought a lot of stuff from here over the years. They did have a reputation for being 'difficult' with RMAs but as I've never returned anything I have no experience of that. Worth watching out for their 'specials'. If you register with the Bit-Tech forum and make 20 non-spam posts you get free postage on orders over £20 although I think there's only a short time left to register for that.

http://www.candccentral.co.uk/PC-Water-Cooling.html These are OK but can be a bit pricey on some items. Small range of stock.

http://www.specialtech.co.uk/ These are OK but the 2 items I've bought from them took longer than I expected to arrive. Not an extensive range.

I would happily buy from all of the above but always go to Chilled PC first.

Jab-Tech is the only one I have dealt with to date, and I can say that I have a hard time looking any further for WC parts. Every order has gone much better than I had expected, and there is even a rep here, who I believe is the owner. HERE is a link to his profile. I think there might be a Petra's rep here as well, but don't remember for sure.

AWESOME Elfie ! Thanks

I just took a drive round Manchester to find watercoolinguk

Found em and went in for a chat, they were a friendly bunch if a little addicted to Energy Drinks...

Got some good advice and will be happy to place orders there .. if only for the fact they are 5 minutes up the road and I can go collect kit

The best thing about this is I got to SEE and touch some of the parts before spending a fortune on all this gear .. I have a better Idea now of what it will look like

Cheers to you and to them ..

Next time you go in ask them when they're going to get some decent shiny white 3/8" ID 1/2" OD tubing:mad:
