So I ordered a Dell Inspiron 11z :D. I got the one with the dual core Pentium SU4100, 2GB of memory, Bluetooth, and 6-cell battery. It should be here on Saturday, so there will be some time to put in my shiny new A-Data 32GB SSD. I will be installing Ubuntu 10.04 and using the 250GB externally. Im pretty excited, this should be a nice step up from the Atom, while still being portable.

11z is so tight!.... but why ubuntu? Win 7 64bit would FLY on that!

I prefer Ubuntu over Windows for my day to day stuff. Windows 7 is very nice though. I just built my brother a budget Q8200 system with Windows 7 Pro x64.

I have an MSI Wind U120. Its pretty nice, but I find myself trying to do stuff that needs a little more power.

Ur gonna really like the 11z... i contemplated on trading in my dell mini 9 for one for quite some time... but i dont need any more of a laptop right now.

Yesterday the Fedex man brought me my 11z. I didnt even boot it, right away I was taking it apart. The Broadcom Wifi card supposedly has issues with Linux, so it was replaced with an Intel 5300ABGN. The HDD was also replaced with a 32GB SSD. It was a bit tedious taking the 11z apart as there were so many screws. It took me about an hour to swap hardware and install Ubuntu 10.04 x64. So far it screams, and now its pretty tolerable converting audio and video formats on the go.
