Can i go to the store, but a 12v fan and just solder/crimp in to the 4 pin connector 12v power line? Or am I going to blow something up?

Just dropped in for a quick look around and saw this un-answered !!!!!

Nooooo Don't do it !!!

You'll end up hurting something or someone.
Use a extension cord or power strip to power that Fan !

is there a particular reason though? It would make sense that if its a 12v fan... that it would be able to be powered through the powersource... isnt that what they do.. they sell you fan with a connector from 2 pin (+/-) to a 4 pin power source? I'm just avoiding purchasing this ... or am i totally wrong.

As long as its a 12v fan, you shouldn't have any trouble, just make sure you have a secure connection.

Dummy me.

My Mistake ! my brain has been somewhere else.
Yes, you can do that with a 12V fan Duhhhh. my mistake.

I really wouldn't solder it tho. Find a connector you can use to plug it in with. Makes it easier L8R on.

Going on vacation "not soon enough"
My mind has left, but my bodies still here....
