your secret seems to be knowlege of your mobo.
well I know what board I have. what chip set I have and what processor I have.

So can you tell me what to read ( books, links, ect. ) to find out how to o/c my pc.
I have no jumpers and nothing in the bios.

should I assume that with this pc I'm not able to o/c.

I don't mean to sound disrespectfull, but as this is the first time to the board and the first thing I read is that newbie's just want everyone to fix their problems.
Well you were all newbie's at one time till someone mentored/tutored/ or pointed you in the right direction.

all i'm asking for is the same.

thanks

Well, let's see...you know what mobo, chipset, and cpu you have, and you know there are no jumpers or BIOS settings for changing your multiplier or bus speed. The only 2 chances you have of overclocking that setup is:

A) a BIOS update to allow you to change those settings (doubtful)

B) a program like SoftFSB that allows you to change them through software (doubtful but possible)

But, anyway, welcome to the forums, and good luck!

Welcome to the Forums!

You have already read a bunch, it sounds like, and know quite a bit about you system: have you been to the manufacturers site to get updated info?

Or is it one of the dreaded oem boards? The big oems (dell, gateway ibm, comcrap) and intel all make boards that are tough or impossible to oc. And a lot of the cases they use don't take standard mobos either.

Give us a few specs, let us know what you have tried already, if anything, and we'll see what we can do!
