Vid card comparison on Nvidia website...

How accurate is the 3d video card comparison on nvidia's website? I just had it compare mine to a gf3 ti 500... 2042% difference... S3 virge must REALLY s*ck... I knew it was bad... but come on :D

Kind of accurate I suppose (to thier standards anyway). I have a Hercules 3D Prophet III (the original GeForce3 that they made, not Ti or Kyro, or whatever) and it showed me the Ti500 would make a 4% increase.

That just makes me want to run out and buy one! not. :p

well if you look at the bottom of the page it says that it compares your system with over 3mill other comps in madonion's database so i'd say it's accurate BUT it's accurately comparing your card to normal and oc'd Ti500 cards alike and takes the average so your card isn't as slow as it says it is compared to non oc'd Ti500's but i'd say it's not TOO far off. To see how far off your card is i'd Download 3dMark2001 here (http://www.madonion.com) and run it to see what type of score you get.

i went and took that test myself when i first built this system.
at the time i was using a ati 7000. not a bad card and even decent in tests and games.anyhow my score was theres was 500% diff.
i was like BS! but it was true. and i actually see this bench as a marketing ploy. makes you think you need more and really need it bad.but its not always the case.

lol this is what i get now. at least this week. i guess in a week or so the g4 hits and ill be in differance catagory again.

and btw i wont be buying a gf4 .
at least not for a while. heck i havent even seen no big increases yet. mabey 10% increase over mine. sure will need alot more convincing me

3dmark2k1 doesn't run on this card... heck I don't even know how to overclock it... thank goodness it'll be out this week... I GET MY GAINWARD BACK!!!:D :D

then i would download 3dMark2000, I know it'll run on that and browsing through the results on madonion's site i'd say that yes that's about right ;).

already have 3dmark2k... never use it though... too used to 2k1... I was just curious as to the accuracy of the comparison... not in the least curious of this pos's capabilities anymore... just want my GF3 Ti 200 to get here... had to RMA it... human error with watercooling killed it :D

Actually I asked them on the phone what was wrong with it... the guy said they didn't even look at it... but if I wanted they could do an eval on it... but would take a couple weeks... I, of course, said NO thank you :D

Where are you guys finding this? I looked all over their site and don't see it anywhere.

Choose products at the top of the main page... then choose the geforce 3... on the product page of the GF3 it shows the details for the Ti200, regular, and Ti500... right under that it says compare or something similar.

Look for the button that says Analyze my PC. Occording to Mad Onion i'm only behind the GeForce2Ti200 and above cards(with mine oc'd of course) but for half the price i'm happy :D. My score on 3dMark is 5344 http://service.madonion.com/servlet/Index?pageid=/orb/projectcompare&projectType=6&projectId=2646216 with default cooling and i'm sure it can go farther so it's not a bad card.
