My friends rather new system is unstable and i thought i would help him fix it. I posted in the PSU section because it might be that. am also a little concerned about heat it runs at about 46°C idel not overclocked 1.73vcore.
i was thinking the heatsink might be seated incorectly and heat being the reason for it crashing in 3D games, and most appz

His core voltage may be too low at 1.73

It should be 1.75

Yeah, I'd deffinately look into the cooling solution there. With the Tbirds in my sig the temps are in the 44c range while folding. I can manage to get the temps 2-3c higher by running Prime95 torture test. So, at idle unoc'ed he's a bit on the hot side.

ok so my plan is to remount the heatsink taking off the thermal pad and adding some ASII.
the core voltage would be 1.75 but thats thats the voltage to psu is giving him. i might change his psu up the core voltage to +.0050 if i can keep temps down and stress it. i am also planing on flashing his bios with the newest drivers

I would strongly advise getting that running stable at stock before flashing the bios. The last thing ya need is the system crappin' out on ya during the flash.
