Doing a budget build that is budget mainly in the GPU and CPU capabilities aspect. My friend doesn't do anything to warrant i series or even quads. Only really intends to play RTS and older FPS.

SO for now, a single 8800GTX, and looking at decent dual cores. I figure 550-600 is more than enough for this and allowing a nice DX10 or 11 card if he wants later.

I know, Antec, Corsair, etc. Anything specifically awesome? Thanks

A corsair 400w will run a totally decent (think 5770 to 5850) DX10-11 card with a dual core CPU.
If you move up to a quad, i'd stick to the 5770 rather then the 5850.

A couple of solid choices in the 500-600 watt range, Although as Bob said, I don't think he would really need it.

Budget went up slightly, again. /shrug. Still keeping it dual core. He will never use anything requiring quad core in the foreseeable future. No video editing, no hardcore FPS, no number crunching.

Looking at the 57 series or GTX260. Windows 7 will be the OS.
