Have you ever Got so into a game that it can change you Physicaly?
like a increased heart beat?
I'm really Posting this tread today for some Advice. I get Really into games not like i love them and wonna play. i had a fast heart beat after playing Call of Duty 4 in Search and Destroy it was beating As if i had been running. I'm sure this isn't normal, It also Prevents me from playing any form on Scary game, even Halo was too much, Cause i Freak out too much playing with the Flood. Is there any technices that might Lower the Physical Effect on me? or somthing.
I really wonna play Bioshock : ( but it get's too the point were it's not worth it.

Play an FPS while drunk, especially a multiplayer one. Makes it a whole lot more fun.
other than that. I have gotten 'into' games before. I remember being scared off my pants while playing Resident Evil 2. I even 'lived' in Morrowind because that's all I would play.

Wow... my advice... pull it together mentally (for gaming, not saying you are mental outside of this). Its a game. Although I frequently jump when I get sniped in the friggin face in BF2, and Im sure I have a slightly elevated heart rate, its nothing to worry about. Just get a grip bro, you will be aiiiiiight!

This falls in line with what I was going to say. Try just reminding yourself it's a game, nothing more. Before turning to drugs or alcohol, try playing games in windowed mode, use cheap stereo speakers instead of 5.1/headphones, just try things that won't immerse you in the game and see if that helps.

But its so fun :) lol jk.
On a serious note, just know its a game man. If you struggle that bad with keeping games and reality separate, then it might be time to reevaluate your gaming habits.

I'm exactly like you Mr Josh
When I really get into a game of TF2 or something similar oh boy I actually physically turn in my chair with all muscles tensing to try and cap the point when it's in overtime :p
I have no idea why but I know exactly how it feels.
I never get angry over games though, I've rage quit but never come to the point of shouting and swearing at someone over the internet :D
Have you ever been to a LAN? Even one with just a few mates. Some people really get into it but just don't move apart from the movement on the mouse and keyboard. Others shout "NOOO" when they die but that's about it. Some people who are extremely awesome have spasms while playing :D
Just one big word of advice, don't let games take over your life. Games WILL ruin your edumacation so set your priorities.

Are you freakin serious buddy?
People have been getting amped over games for 30+ years. I used to get all hyped about beating bowser. It happens. Once you've been playing games long enough you no longer have any kind of physical reaction to them. I did scream a few times playing Doom 3.
my heart always pounds when i play stuff online. I can't help it so intense in the firefights running through explosions and stuff. That's why I'm addicted to games basicly. I can never get enough of the rush i get from them playing online lol seriously.
It's ok you aren't going to die from it lol I've had my heart pounding so hard at times lol. I mean i usually put myself in the game lol. My sound like bs but i'm very serious. Feels like drugs all over again (won't get into which one lol trying to keep this thread safe for all lol) Basicly I have online gaming to thank for getting me out of that life. Because the rush feels the same but i can come down when ever i want lol.

The last 10% of a raid boss in WoW going for the first time kill was pretty intense for me.
I remember I jumped out of my chair a few times while playing bioshock, big daddy's always flanking you while you hear those little girls' freaky voices.
Getting 4-5 headshots in a row and winning a match for your team in counterstrike was also very intense.
Normal occurences for any gamer imo

*Slowly raises hand* Uhh...present. I'm really bad about that, after playing a game for a few hours I get up and my back and neck are stiff since I'd be sitting in the same position the entire time. Lately, unless it's an online game, I try and make a point of pausing it and just getting up every 1/2 hour or so and walking around.

Oh God, reminds me of a LAN I went to which was an overnight stint with wayyyy too much Red Bull and other energy drinks. At one point we took on a speed and aimbot hacker in CS:S, our crazy tactics managed to kill him every time, the admins didn't kick him because they found it hilarious his hacks didn't help him. :D

Oh man... I saw that video before, I really do feel sorry for this guy. Hopefully he'll go out, get a job, lose >100 pounds and find a girlfriend now that he can't play anymore. Still VERY sad to see :/

8 of us just had a 3 day LAN. We actually slept as well (>6 hours per night! We surprised ourselves :D).
I remember we split into 2 teams for l4d and it seemed how we had split into the non twitchy people and the overly twitchy people :D
Our team were pretty much throwing our mice across the room by the finale :D
We never really did play CS:S though, just seems like a way to serious game.

I used to be like that when I first started FPS a long time ago.
Playing games like Painkiller and fast paced shooters will calm you down.
Now I have no reaction to games other than mouse & keyboard.
Consider me hardened I guess :p
Yes, in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, more precisely in the Agroprom Sewers, the ambient sounds, the lightning and shadows effects, the decrepitude of the whole place... the first time I played it I was very stressed and nervous, I was sweating a bit and my heart beat was accelerated a bit too, not by a lot but enough to take notice of it and feel like I really needed the get the hell out of there ASAP, and each time I turned and looked back even if there was nothing I still had the feeling that some creature would turn that corner and come at me running, and guess what happened near the end of it? Yup, camera suddenly switches angles, shows some freaky mutant, at that very moment I kind of jumped and had to pause the game and relax for some time before resuming, killing the damn thing, still being stressed by the ambiance of the place and get to the surface... only to be greeted by a bunch of military guys.
Good memories... I should go back there again in a new game with night-vision this time...

Yes, since I read your 1st post I was wondering how old are you?
I know what you're talking about since I used to experience that when I was younger. There's no technique to solve this other than growing up, experiencing things and maturing and that takes time since it's natural. If you don't feel comfortable playing certain type of games just don't. My heart usually beats up fast when I'm about to die, or when getting killed in a game named Tibia. I remember I used to get scared playing golden eye single player and doom 95, back when I was about 10 years old, you feel kinda nervous and paranoid about dying and your heart starts beating fast. Normally now that I'm 22 my body just gets like heated up or something, but I don't feel nervous or anything, I just get kinda hot while playing Soldat or Bad Company 2 and if it's really intense I'll probably get hungry (I know that sounds random, but yea).

^ Although I'm agreeing when you're younger it's hard to do this. I still get into games but when I was 14-15 I would really get into them. I would blank out everything except the game, was quite desperate.
Things change over time, just go easy on the games and don't make them your primary thing to do.
