I've got my standard AT&T router/modem that has wireless but its not giving good wireless connectivity in my mom's office (the garage). I've tried different frequencies and its currently set to 802.11g. To boost the signal strength, I need a repeater right?
Can I use something like this
LINKSYS WAP54G Wireless-G 54Mbps Access Point
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833124012&cm_re=wireless_access_point-_-33-124-012-_-Product
or is that only for Linksys routers? Any other suggestions?

I would go with a WRT54GL router and put DD-WRT on it. I have used many of them as wireless repeaters and have had great stability and signal.

Sometimes just a better antenna (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=+antenna&x=0&y=0) can do the trick!

Is it possible to use a WRT54GL router as a repeater and also a wireless bridge for Netflix for TV?

Any second recommendations for WRT54GL or something cheaper?

If you are doing streaming, running a repeater is not a wise option. For each "hop" the data makes, you cut the effective transfer rate in half. There is no way you can run a cable to that computer?

I'd vote pick up a wireless N router, and then set that up instead of using the crappy att one. Around here we're lucky if those things can get through two walls with all the wifi noise here. (EVERYONE has wifi now)

+1 on that. Not to mention streaming Netflix through a G router will be pushing it imo.
