View Full Version : Our Folding team is getting creamed in the chimp challenge! We need backup!!!
I understand you guys helped us out during the march maddness competition but I wanted to let you guys know that the folding team is competing with the other top teams in a race to 20 million points and we are getting FREAKING DOMINATED! :temper:
This is the worst i've ever seen us do while competing against the other teams and with so much of our forums reputation on the line we need to pull together and make sure we can stay on the map.
Before you decide weather or not to help us out, please watch this video and get fired up!

Now that your fired up, goto this thread http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=641531.
Post like crazy in that thread, spam it to death. Tell us what you plan to do in order to get us to dominate the competition.
This is a rally cry! lets push with everything we got! Failure is not an option!
I believe we will owe you guys big time if you come to our rescue.

Team 32 is desperate here. We will owe you guys something huge if you can help us out. Something along the lines of helping you dominate the competition in your next battle against another team.
I'd love too, but I just sold my back-up rig and my main went down the same day. As it stands now I'm struggleing to finish the BOINC units on it.
If I could make any sort of decent production with any of my rigs I'd pitch in.
However, I'd encourage anyone particularly with X4/i5/i7 rigs to fold even a few WUs to help out the F@H team. I don't think the dual core machines will make much difference tbqh.

I would jump in, but all I can offer is single core clients. I've since wiped all my VMs, and only have a 9600GT still folding. Sigh.
!! Flash !!
We have just passed up the Beavers gone Banana's (HWCanucks team), and taken over 5th position!
The #3, and #4 team have slowed down, and we are still picking up steam - if this keeps up, we'll be #3 later today or tomorrow!!

Every little bit helps. Even if you aren't pumping out 50k PPD (I only do 11k), or even if you are only able to do a couple hundred PPD, we would love to have you along. The dual cores can still do a1 and a2 WU's FWIW.
We've gone from 6th to 3rd, and now to 4th position, all in the past 24 hours!
It's a great race.
Current race graph for the remaining racing teams (EVGA and OCN have finished, but they're sponsored teams, and not who we're racing against).
We ARE leaving MaxPC in the dust, however!

I figure I can donate my main computer for a week. As a reminder, I believe it is possible to configure systems with recent video cards to do GPU folding for f@h while leaving the CPU free for Rosetta. Since Rosetta does not take advantage of GPUs, this will not impact Rosetta points.
Thanks, Cowboy!
Due to a huge rally, we've now moved up to 3rd place - First in the VERY close class of remaining race teams (there are 4 of us locked in a see-saw battle).
Best Chimp race, ever!

@MarkP: Thanks so much! Wonderful, and welcome to "The Great Chimp Challenge"
If you want the latest on the race, one source is the "Go monkeys Go!" thread, in the folding team forum. It's updated several times each day.

Unfortunately, I don't have an extra. If I had your problem, I'd VERY CAREFULLY, try to gently straighten out each pin, with very fine needle nose pliers.
I don't believe you can get an RMA from the maker, because it's clearly user damaged. That's a shame that happened. :rain:
