so in trying to drop my case temps, (my core temps drop evenly with my case temps 1 to 1) i turned my thermostat down from a comfortable 70 degrees farenheit to 68. now my case temp is sitting at 25 and cpu is 43 crunching seti. not too bad i think.
one question. no matter how much air i move through my case it stays 2-3 above my room temp. is this normal or likely a high reading temp probe? i can take the case off and point a couple fans at the mobo and temps will only drop about 1 degree. normal? have a standard setup with two intakes, lower side and lower front. and one exaust upper rear. all fans are 80 mm and probably similar cfm's but i'm not sure as i didn't buy any of them new......

perfect airflow would make your case internally what it is ambient. to test, take off the side of your case, if your temp drops, then your airflow isn't all it could be, and you have to decide between noise and temp (or watercooling heh heh) otherwise your temp probe is off or something, at any rate you have enough airflow.

yeah, i been working on my temps all week, i've tried lot's of things. had the case off for quite a while. system temps with case off were only 1-2 degrees below temp after installing side intake fan.... i think my temp sensor is right at 1-2 degrees off. just a guess though.

if taking off the side of your cases don't help, your temp sensor is off:) quite probably at least. i wouldn't worry about though.
