View Full Version : looking for ati card, need suggestions

buying a new board (p5q pro turbo) and putting e7200 on it with 4 gb corsair xms2 on it water cooling also. need low budget ati card or pair of ati's with crossfire support to put on it, looking to spend no more than about $125.00.

anyone have any suggestions to get the most bang out of my bucks?

For gaming performance I would go with a 4850 @ about $100

Theres a certain someone's 4870 (http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=641907) in the classifieds that you could pick up for a deal. ;)

But the 16W idle power is attractive and full load @ 86 watts is nice too. Plus GDDR5!

No DX11 support with a 4850... Uses more power...

Even though the 4850 has a higher throughput, they both get about the same frame rates... GDDR3 vs GDDR5

Power consumption is massivley different and I forgot about that. And the 4850 Runs a little bit hotter.

You need to do this through the classifieds section... if you can't see the classifieds you probably don't have an ISP email addy... if you do have one, pm a mod...
