what are some good online retailers carrying them?
the northwoods are the chips with the 512k cache

I just got the P4 1.8a from Atacom, I paid $225 with shipping.
If you go to http://pricewatch.com you will find them cheaper.

But be sure to check out http://www.resellerratings.com before you buy. Some vendors are not worth the hassle.

I have built both an Asus P4t-E and a TH7II-Raid and It's pretty much a toss up for me. Again, Pricewatch is a good place to look.
You can probably find several debates on whether you should get the P4T-e or the TH7II in these forums. If you want to check out articles and reviews on those boards go to : http://www.jathardware.com

I am currently waiting on an order from here: Googlegear.com (http://www.googlegear.com/ggweb/jsp/Home.jsp)

They have some of the best pricing i've seen around. Northwood 1.8 = $203

It's not only CPU/Mobo quality that will get you higher fsb, it's your cooling system all together.. I'm kinda stuck @ 2.6 for my northy 2.2, but with my watercooling, I'm glad to be able to hit 3Ghz easily! I could not pass 2.6 Aircooled tho' ...

Where did u buy the bracket for the PIV socket 478 coz Northwood is only socket 478 (I think). I have found a site in the UK which sells it but only has a PIV socket 423 bracket. Also When you got 3GHz have you made any modifications (like adding or replacing fans). Also what is temp inside the case when ur at 3GHz. Cheers for help :)

Koolance just came out with thier ALL-Socket waterblock, I know Koolance is _NOT_ the best watercooling system out there but I liked the Antec case and kinda lazy to do my own :) .. They will start shipping worldwide in 2 weeks or so, I got mine on a special order from a local dist. here.. No fans/etc on my case, it's super quiet too!

Ah yes another lazy person like myself :D lol jk. I can't be bothered to make my own water cooling unit either. Would the Koolance be able to cool the processor sufficeiently if running at 3GHz? By the way thanks for the reply
