View Full Version : Who has the Highest CPU Dedication Rating?!?

Ok, who has the highest CPU Dedication Rating on here? Mine is over 105%, but I know there are people out there with a rating in the 2000% range... there just has to be.
How could it be over 90 something? Maybe I'm not following what you're talking about. When nothing but Seti is running the cpu dedication is about 98%.

WHAT?!! I thought you would have a farm and be getting around 240 hours in per day :D

Well, if you have more than one computer, your time will be over how long you have been a member... so if you have 2 computers working 100% of the time, your CPU Dedication in SetiSpy would be 2.000 or 200%.

Now THATS what I'm talkin about!

Do you run seti spy? Dedication = crunching time / time as a member

Basically the only way you can get over a 1.000 is if you have more than one processor running. I just wanted to see who has the most CPUs running on average since they signed up. This stat takes into account all downtime. I was just wondering if there was a 40.000 dude out there (or dudette).

Maybe you can figure it out from this - I'm going to bed :) Oh and I have about 9 machines running Seti full time at the moment.

Hey!
I have 1.096.....and rising :)
I'll have to check when I get home but I believe SETISpy was showing 6.xxx. I'll edit this post with a screen cap later today.

I'm at 2.286 on SETIspy. But that should increase now that I've brought a third cruncher on line.
Here's a screen cap showing my cpu dedication:

Curious... I see some posted screen caps of peoples displays and they do not have the % sign next to the percent usage? Is this from an older version of SETISpy or is mine just configured different?

Well according to your interval time, i would say yours is correct, you only used 5% of the potential CPU time since you joined seti.

Okay, well that would explain it. I was running SETI on a 300 a while ago, then had to stop because of system issues. Now that I am going again it should change slowly over time, right?
My original time to crunch was up around 22 hours per wu, so you can already see that that has changed. Only two units had been crunched before I started again, so now I am moving back down to the 3.68 hours per unit range... very slowly! LOL
Thanks and keep crunching....
Some of them look different. I'm using ver. 3.07 on Win98SE. Here is another cap I just took.

Hey if I run Seti Spy briefly will it calculate this, or would I have had to have been running it all along?

You just need to install it for a second. I don't use it at work and when this thread came up, that's where I was. So I just installed it for a second and it got my stats update.

The % symbol is used only from the 0% to the 100%. If you have more than 100% CPU dedication the program will drop the % symbol and only show you the number as 1.571. This will mean than you have 157.1% of dedication.

Thanks! That helped! I thought I might have been outdated for some reason! LOL

Wow! You guys rock!
It's been a while since I've been able to make it to these
forums at all. I've not been here in about 2 years cause I've
been very sick. But now that I'm doing better, I figured I'd
get back into the swing of things, overclock some, water cool
some, and case mod LOTS!
SETI fits into this somehow.

I recently had one mobo die on one machine, two hard drives
die in one other machine, and a GeForce 2 GTS go all green on
me on another machine. So that's three systems down from
my little "farm" under my desk. I've managed to get a used
system board, and a GeForce 3 and some used hard drives,
so hopefully I'll have all three sysetms up and running again.
I also picked up a pair of dual processor Pentium boards. One is
a dual Slot 1 server board with onboard Nic and UW SCSI. I just
need to track down a matching pair of processors for it.
The other board I picked up is a dual PIII 933 board! I think that
will make a nice Bryce Renderstation! With SETI in the background
of couse.
Hehe, maybe I should join a SETI team?

Fell free to test us and if you deem us good, you surely are welcome to join us.....
We are always happy to let anyone interested in our team come and pay us a visit.....even if they don't join us right away.
We organize team intraraces, individual challenges and in general we are a friendly bunvh, just ask Cy who was coming along for the trip for 6-8 months before he joined us :)
Check our homepage wer you can find the indivual stats, tips, tricks and lots of info about SETI@home.....
Welcome to our forums and our team :)
Yes, I watched this team for some time before deciding to join. They had, by far, the best mix of energy/friendlyness/active members of any team I looked at including Anandtech and ArsTechnica. The only other team I might have considered would have been [H]ardOCP but they don't support SETI officially. :)
