View Full Version : Gains of Delta50 from Delta38?
I'm looking into the most powerful 60mm Delta, which spins at 8000rpm blowing 50cfm. I currently have the Delta38. How much performance gain am I expected to see? (My temps are in the sig) If I can shave off 3-4+ degrees celcius off my current temps, I'm ordering :D

you will probably loose a couple of degrees. the 50cfm delta also has a lower noise and should be more bearable
Welll it turns out a Delta 38 truley runs more like 8100rpms. Checked it with a laser rpm sensor (used for ballancing fans). So, unless they screwed aroudn with the pitch of the blades, you shuold expect something very loud. Not worth it for a few degrees if you ask me

80mm to 60mm fan adapter.
I was actually very interested in a fan adaptor but thought it wasn't economical enough since there were mixed results. The fan adaptor also says to create back pressure so even if you have a 80mm fan pushing more air than a 60mm, the back pressure from the adaptor seizes it's ability to function at optimal performance.

Really? I thought the Delta50 spun at 8000rpm. The dB rating is at 54, whereas the 38 is at 46. Maybe I'm missing something?
I dont have a delta 50 to rpm test... But the rpm lead from teh fan stated it 7200 rpms... where as the digital rpm tester of mine did closer to 8100rpms.... I personally would trust a $1000 piece of equiptments accuracy for liek +-3 rpms... The delta 50 could also spin at 8000 rpms however.... This be by having a unique blade configuration/ shape.
