So, all of my friends and I have been in college or off to work and whatnot for years now, and we all miss playing DnD. I've set up an online DnD campaign with Video conferencing, dice roll broadcasting etc. The one thing that I want to do, that I don't know how or can't do is get the character sheets online.
I had been searching for interactive online character sheets and found a bunch of web based stuff. A lot of them have tons of security precautions to make sure people who you don't want looking at your character sheets aren't. And since we already have a website where we do lots of stuff involving our campaign, it's a pain in the ass to have it branching out into different sites and stuff. I'd much prefer to have it all in one location, to make it easier for everyone.
I found an interactive .PDF file for the character sheet. I uploaded it to my private website and was going to just have them update their individual PDF's on the website for a while. I thought that would have worked great. Unfortunately, one of my friends notified me there was no PDF today, I went and looked and the file is just gone. I checked my e-mail and looked at my hosts page, and there were no notifications. I mean, I assume it had to have been my host who deleted it, when I uploaded it I somewhat expected that to happen, but was hoping that if it did they would have at least notified me. But they didn't. I don't really want to try again and risk losing my websites.
Does anyone know of a more convenient method to do this, or have another idea? I wanted to make my own interactive character sheets on the website, but my coding knowledge has gone down the drain since it's been on the shelf collecting dust the past few years. The only other real alternative I have is to type up and make a huge long post with all the character information in a forum post. Which would be obnoxious, but literally the best thing I could come up with.
