keep my Magdrive or not

what should I do, keep my a Danner Magdrive pump 700 GPH (1800LPH) but make an incredible noise or buy a new Eihem 1250 LPH. I want to know if Eihem is more silent.

Eheim is a great pump. You could barely hear it run at all.

Your Danner should be quiet too, did you open it up and check what may be wrong? Look down in the impeller's hole into the core, maybe swab it out. Check for a loose impeller blade and make sure the end bearings are in good shape too (black bits on either end of the impeller shaft).

mmmmmmmmm, ive used magdrive pumps a lot before and they were always silent. So i think either your pump is dirty inside(the impellar) or well that the impellar is loose(seen this before) and it spins a bit offset making the pump vibrate a helluva lot. If i were you id open it up and check those possibilities out before purchasing a new ehein pump. :)

You were right, my impellar was very lose, so I make a shim and it's very more silent. thanks
