I've got 2 machines that I've set up boinc manager on, one attached to seti@home o.k. but is not able to fetch work. I setup the other machine just a few minutes ago, but can't complete attaching to seti- getting a message that "project servers may be temporarily down". Does UC Berkley turn off it's servers on holidays, or ?

Edit:

checked seti site, the latest news tells the tale:

Out of Work
We are currently out of work to distribute because our science database has decided to take a vacation while it reverses some changes that it had made earlier. We estimate it will be back within 8 hours or so. 29 May 2010 1:34:13 UTC

8 hours, give or take a couple days...O.K., I can relate. ;)

They must have to tinker with those servers often because they always seem to go down on weekends or holidays when no ones around ... :-/

Always set for 10 days. Their server goes down for as much as a few days at a time, by having 10 days worth of work you can keep chugging along for over a week without needing more new data.

There was this one time that they were unable to send or receive data for nearly a week due to a series of events.

Well the rig's got work now- 7 tasks @84-85% and 1 @50%, with some uploaded already.
