What size is Athlon XP original heat sink fan?? Can I replace that with better fan, and drop my temps??
My XP1800 runs at 1680, 280 FSB 41/26 idle, 45/27 load.
Thanks.
Stock hsf's usually come with a 60mm fan, and yes, replacing would help.
However, you'd be better off biting the bullet and getting an aftermarket hsf for it...you'll get far better results. The stock one is only to keep a processor alive at stock speeds, and barely that. They just want it to live past the warranty period. Though your present temps aren't too bad.

Antec 830 did all the job. Droped my temps big time. I was in mid 50/mid40's.

I did go on radioshack.com, and they have 60mm (2.36") DC 12V fan 18 CFM Ball Baring for $12. I think that's nice. 18cfm thats more then stock fan, a??

I doubt it. You could get a pretty good heatsink for that price.
Check out the Glaciator (http://www.millenium-thermal.com) for a good quiet solution.

Oh, and check your PMs. :D

18 cfm is very quiet but that isnt much air moving. You need to get up into the 30 + cfm to get good air cooling. The more air the lower temps and the higher oc'ing. If your gonna buy, go ahead and spend enough to get a good heatsink and good fan.

The original fan from AMD is about 27 cfm or so. I think this is correct. I am going from memory about an article i read some time ago.
