View Full Version : DIR-625 no wireless network
I have a D-Link DIR-625 Wireless N Router which works perfectly, but the wireless network is not working. I cannot see it on the wireless list at all, but if I plug in a CAT5 I can access it fine.
Any ideas? I'm about to throw it in the trash as it is out of warranty...so I'm down for anything!
Thanks

Mine was a tremendous pain in the ass to set up at first. I had to download and install new firmware on it like 10 times before it worked. The WORST part is how it deletes even the stock firmware when you reset back to manufacturers default settings. I had to use an app to install the firmware from the desktop. *edit*: That was wrong, I was thinking of my Buffalo router. No desktop app is needed. Once I got it working though, it has been smooth as silk since.

shhhhh.... the censors are watching :chair:
I just reverted to a previous firmware...still not showing up as a network on my list.
Any other ideas?

Not really. It took me like 10x but it worked. Try using WEP for security instead of WPA, for some reason one of the machines I had at that time absolutely refused to use WPA (I think it was the Wii). Oh ****! I nearly forgot! The first one I got was a dud and I returned it and the second one worked right after flashing the firmware (with the exception of the Wii being picky).
I don't have encryption enabled. I've tried everything settings-wise.
What about hardware checks? Resoldering?

1. Stupid question but is the wireless turned on in the firmware?
2. Throw it away and buy something that runs tomato (http://www.polarcloud.com/tomato) or dd-wrt (http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/index).
