I am looking 4 a new hs & fan...

Should I get this 1 ... ThermalRight SK6 ?

Not sure what 60mm fan I should get as well... Some suggestion maybe :)

My pc in my bedroom...so I want 2 be able 2 play music without a car sound coming from my box :D

In that case I do not recommend the SK6. They are designed to use the delta 60mm screamer which is very loud. I have used 80mm on them as well but they just don't cool as well as a 60mm. The best "quiet" setup you can get, IMO, is the alpha 8045 with a 40-50 CFM fan. Of course your mobo needs to support the mounting style of the 8045. If not the alpha, I would have to recommend the Glaciator 2, pretty quiet and good cooling.

I have the SK-6, but if an annoying noise is something you want to stay away from... then buy the Heatsink alone and get a different 60mm fan that will not drive you nuts for the 1st day. The Delta is screaming loud! I want to replace it, but when comparing, I don't want to lose too much airflow for a quieter fan, hence the comparison below... the hunt goes on. Unless someone can point us in the right direction for a quiet 60mm fan.

ThermalRight SK-6 with stock fan: Delta Fan
Size: 60 x 60 x 25 (mm)
Bearing: Dual Ball Bearing System
Voltage: 12V
Speed: 6800 rpm
Air Flow: 37.61 CFM
Noise Level: 46.5 dBA

Possible Replacement: Panaflo Fan
Size: 60mm x 60mm x 25.5mm
Power Consumption: 2.04W
Air Volume: 19.1 CFM
Noise (in Decibles): 32 dBA
Bare Wire Leads

I have also seen allot of people recommend the ALPHA PAL8045U HSF. But I can't comment on that one, never used one. :D

I use the SK6 with Delta 38 fans, and if noise bothers you then you want to avoid the Delta fans. For quiet machines with great cooling, the Swiftech 462 with 80mm fan is quiet and great for cooling - but it will cost you (approx. 75.00). For a quieter machine the Glaciator may be a better bet.

Yep, the Glaciator II will do the job, quietly and at reasonable cost..............I really do miss the sound of my Delta though. It was nice when both rigs had screamers in'em :D

You're weird. :D

Just thought I'd say that the Glaciator II is great cooling for low cost. Find 'em here (http://www.millennium-thermal.com).

Find a comparison of a good selection of coolers here (http://www.overclockers.com/articles373/)

I'm also going to be moving this to cooling. You might get some other ideas there. :)

Welcome to the forums and enjoy your stay! :)

Welcome to the forums!

I just ordered a Glaciator 2 and I figured a better fan would make this great HS even better. So I'll use a 60mm YStech... the high speed 40cfm model. I also ordered a YStech 92mm (66cfm!) which I will use to duct fresh air directly on the HSF. The Glaciator is very quiet at stock, but noise is not a big deal to me...

If you can get air from outside the case to your HSF, then it'll cool better and you could use a lower speed (quieter) fan, or no fan at all. Also, buying or making a fan adapter will let you use a larger (quieter but with the same or better performance) fan. If you get a fan that's too loud for you, there are a couple of ways to modify it to reduce noise at a small performance cost.

Lapping a heatsink base and using quality thermal paste will also improve heatsink performance.

I would suggest the Glaciator II since they have good performance and are very quiet.

What about the Cooler Master HHC-001 HSF with built in dual mini heatpipes on one of its sides. This is a great HSF that looks cool and stays cool too. It isn't that noisey either and the only thing I see wrong with it is that you have to lap the heck out of its ruff bottom big time to get it nice and shiney to see your reflection in it for even better CPU cooling power with it

i would suggest the mcxc370.
my cpu is 42 under full load, hits 43 sometimes while crunching.
not too noisy with the 33 cfm fan and a great cooler. i LOVE the mounting system. on or off in about 5 seconds with little or no possiblity of crushing the core.check out the reviews included with the heatsink rantings on the overclockers home page.

If price isnt an issue, but noise is, what about the Silverado Noise Control.

thx 4 all the post ..

i may go with Glaciator II Millennium (stock fan) :D
