Heh, that may take a while still.
Also consider that the first "cheap" SSDs will probably use slow and cheap NAND, not being totally "worth it".

This SSD has the same internals as the Vertex, except the NAND. The lucky ones who get the higher grade nand will have completely awesome performance for the money ivested.

Anandtech has a review on SSDs.
It's the same controller, cheaper flash.

This is the OCZ Agility. You get the same controller as the Vertex, but with either Intel 50nm or Toshiba 40nm flash

If you want to make the jump to an SSD and are looking to save every last dollar, the Agility is an option.

I think the Agility line is a great idea from OCZ. I’m not sure about you but personally, as long as the flash is reliable, I don’t care who makes it. And I’m willing to give up a little in the way of performance in order to hit more competitive price points.

The review makes me feel more comfortable with my purchase on this SSD :)

Me too. I've ordered a new laptop, and was trying to decide whether to get an SSD for it or not. I eventually decided to wait for newer models and lower prices, but when I saw this deal I jumped on it.
