Xp from dos

When i try to boot XP from the CD ROM i get an error message that says "This program can not be runned it DOS mode" how to i do this. I wanna load it onto a fresh hard drive. how would i go about doing this without installing ME and then XP

hmmm that's strange i usually get that message when trying to launch XP "setup" command from the DOS prompt,when booting XP from CD everythin's fine.Are usure that ur booting from CD not typing the setup command from DOS?

you need to get smartdrive on your floppy and run it then go to the i386 dir and type winnt. That should get you going

you cannot install windows xp from dos.... go read my post on how to format and installl

Then read takiwa, and my reply in that thread stating otherwise. Do as Shep instructed and it should work fine.
