With all this crunching power has anything ever been found? Has there been even some questionble results other than the smile face I've once seen (which was obviously touched up). Don't want to start a big debate but was just wondering.
There are a lot of possibles that come up. SETI is using a multi-redundant system to check each result and they file away all the interesting ones. Now that they are catching up on the whole project I think I read that they are starting to go back and check on some of the ineresting results. The Crunching has been moving full steam and the results were stacking up for checking.
We could hear about something as we move forward at "any" time. There are some more checks that would be needed before the official public press conference so it might still be weeks/months or even a year(s) after the discovery is made.
There is always hope. :)

If we find ETI (if j00 are stupid it means extra terestrial intelligence and I cant spell terestrial) will we have to stop crunching? this would be bad! But then we could just move to Folding! What is folding?
Lots of stuff has been found.... Of course, very little has be analyzed and found to be ETI :D
I've had my own share of bogus results. For some reason, when I play a MIDI it really screws with SETI. After a few work units, I realized what was happening, and never play MIDI's while SETI is running. Here's a picture I captured of a MIDI in action  (The power of the spike one of my MIDIs created is 6.04x10^31)

My question.. why the heck were you playing a MIDI?

Seems they have found some interesting data (http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/process_page/) but as SETI@home is a serious effort to find some proof of extraterrestial intelligence they need to be pretty damn sure that a cndidate signal is not a natural source (pulsar), a man made interference or some bogus from the Arecibo Telescope.
After they have a candidate signal, they would gave word to other telecopes/radio telecope to check the same spot in the space, and only if the other telescope get a simmilar signal then a public announcement will be made. There used to be a page at berkeley with all this stuff (where they told you not to do public announcement, the protocol to prove that a signal is from an ETI) but I don't seems to find find it anymore.
