I am aiming for power and stability on my first ever computer build what i have so far is the following

- COOLER MASTER HAF 932 Blue RC-932-KKN3-GP Black Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119213

- Intel Core i7-930 Bloomfield 2.8GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Model BX80601930 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115225

The Motherboard i picked out is MSI X58 Pro-E USB3 LGA 1366 Intel X58 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard. My standards on my motherboard is that it can support Cross fired Video Cards and Max RAM should be 24GB. I would love extra PCI slots though.

If anyone has any ideas about a better motherboard for me under $220 Please help me out. Also if you have any tips for a first time computer builder please help me out with that area as well.

That board may have a temp issue..The 2 other boards E and pro, are hot running on the northbridge...first build I would go with asus..take a look at the p6t and p6t SE ,and there is 1 new board P6X58D-E that is just a great board..also the gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R is a fine board but some people complain of a whine from the motherboard..dont know how prevelent it is but if i wanted it id go for it.....go to newegg and look at the boards under 220.00 and pick one out that has the layout you want...cant really go wrong with asus,gigabyte,evga,....even the asrock boards are great boards...
so go shop and see what you think...x58 boards all perform about the same except for a few that are for crazy o/clocks....
