GoldenEye 007 confirmed for Wii, first trailer released (http://www.nintendoeverything.com/41974/)
This rumor has been floating around for the past week, now a trailer has been leaked. Hopefully an official announcement comes tomorrow at Nintendo's E3 conference.
Original link has gone 404, new link http://exophase.com/wii/goldeneye-wii-gets-early-reveal-15902.htm
There were some youtube links but they keep getting taken down, I'm guessing because this is real and avtivision wants it to be a surprise at E3.

Facility FTW. :attn:
Hah they didn't use Pierce Brosnan in this remake, still the video looks alright, too bad its not on a real game console.

I'll buy this on release day!
This looks very similar to the original but with some twists. It should be good! I can only image the potential, and I'm guessing it'll deliver!

Why no Brosnon why Craig I think he's sh** at Bond and why did that guy who asks everyone "Who thinks it's the best shooter ever" sounds like Kevin Butler from Sony?????

licensing as far as i can tell of it. personally i'm alright with it. i prefer craig to brosnon as a bond anyway, like a rougher connery to me. for that matter i've never disliked a film daniel craig was in.

Oh man on the Wii? Let me guess...instead of being Wiiware it'll be a disc purchase like Geometry wars was (lame) and they won't add any online multiplayer...and I'll have to buy a classic controller which isn't even wireless........this is just my guess hopfully I'm wrong but I know how Nintendo roles.

Online multi-player....sweet! I stand corrected. I also wonder if it have a widescreen option and I'm curious that the website shows NDS....are they making a DS version?.....it has the hardware to run it.
How you suppose to play FPS on Wii though?
This game looks amazing I'm glad I have a Wii

Wouldn't you just point the remote and pull the trigger?

Yes, they are also making a DS version

I would guess the same way its done with other FPS on the wii like COD3 and The Conduit.

Working along the same lines as Metroid 3: Corruption, Call of Duty utilizes a bounding box that gives the player faster and more precise controls, very similar to a PC mouse and keyboard. When the cursor is in the middle of the screen, the player is still. Start moving the Wii-mote against an invisible bounding box, however, and you'll start to move your character's head as well. The farther from the center of the screen you move the controller, the faster you'll turn.
This method worked great in the Conduit, especially since they added a lot of customization features to adjust bounding box, turn rate....

For those not into the wiimote style of play, classic controller support is also listed.

Gameplay seems solid (graphics aren't, but that's Wii) and a lot better than Goldeneye: Source, but that was just a redo of the N64 game without the single player campaign. This looks like a whole new game.
Wouldn't you just point the remote and pull the trigger?
Oh really?
I never played FPS on a Wii before and my point was that the controller is not similar to anything I ever played a FPS on......seems like the controls would be much harder.

In short:
1. The wii is usually only any good with rail shooters (Dead Space being a good example). Once you get out in the open field (Red Steel 2 being a good example) you start to play to all the Wii's weaknesses.
2. I'm no bond purist but I'd take Craig over Brosnan the same way I'd take Frank Miller's Daredevil over anybody else's (and his Punisher, and his Captain America). I prefer realistic heroes over skinny supermen. (Altough I do like Burn Notice for some odd reason... maybe because that guy is just funny.)
3. The gamecube could pull off Goldeneye... I don't know if the Wii can.

Fortunately you can play the game with the wiimote, classic controller/CCpro, or Gamecube controller.

I got to spend a little time with it, played through the first mission. Seems like it could be a real good game, I don't know if I'm sold on the Wii remote as the controller but maybe after some practice you get used to it or if you customize the settings? It's just hard to get the reticule onto an enemy when your turning....you see the enemy, you move the controller back to stop turning but your cursor is still at the edge of the screen and you have to wave it back to the center...it's slow. I also think maybe I was being too conservative with my shooting....having that Wiimote makes you always want to dead eye people....maybe I should have just done more spraying, sniper rifle is super fun with it though.
Presentation was really good, great voice acting, good character movement and cut scene camera work....I think it would be a good story driven FPS. Graphics were pretty good for Wii I guess...haven't played too many action games on wii to compare....one issue I noticed though I think it might have been a setting mistake....in parts even though I was playing 480p it almost looked like 480i like I could see the interlace lines....like I said something might have been off on the Wii.
Has anyone else played this? What do you guys think?

i have the game i give it a 6-7 there are some issues that i have and there my own personal opinions. I think the game is much like COD now. Using the wiimote sucks your arms get tired lol. Getting a feel of the buttons on the wiimote take some time to get used too and its pretty sensitive.
I do think the action and levels look very cool. And there are some things taken from other new fps that made this game better. Oh yeah and the scale of the game is way bigger then the n64 version.

I'm having fun with it...I think it's a well done game...the stealth gameplay is a lot of fun...take out a whole area of guys with sneak behind attacks and silenced pistol.
I'm more used to the wii remote...but it still has it's issues....it's fun when it's working....if some guy sneaks behind you and starts shooting I find often I move the remote too far and it loses sensor bar connection and I get a circle with a line through it and continue to get shot. But it does work really well when you use the sights on a gun or scope on sniper rifle.

(Yes I'm BRINGING THIS THREAD BACK!)
The hell with the wii remote. (Don't particularly like how you have to shake the nunchuck up and down for certain actions)
I bought a gamecube controller JUST to play this game.
I've got a Wiimotion plus and STILL the Wiimote isn't accurate enough for me.
(Guncon 3 FTW baby!)
It is a great game though. Proof that all you need to have a great game on the Wii is a developer who actually gives a damned. But, of course, as I said all along... no real developers were ever going to take the Wii seriously.
There's basically the folks that made this and then Dead Space: Extraction.
Other than that... time proved me right!

It is? Wow!
I had no idea.
I'll say this about Goldeneye: It's got the best sniper rifle EVER.
And the graphics are surprisingly okay... for a Wii game. HD it ain't... but for a Wii game it's one of the best I've seen.
