Alrighty, so here's the problem. I'm trying to allow my new rig I built to access the internet through my desktop using ICS in windows. I enabled sharing on my desktop, and I ran the network setup wizard on the new rig.
My desktop is running 64bit Vista, and my new rig has 32bit XP. I have the two computers connected with a LAN cable, and the LAN shows up on my desktop which is the "host" through which my other comp is supposed to be accessing the internet.
For some reason I cant get the new rig to obtain an ip address. I have it set to obtain one automatically in the Tcpip settings, but when i run command promt /ipconfig -all the ip address that it "says" it has is completely different than the ip address on my host computer. Also, though an ip address is displayed, no DNS servers show up on the LAN.
Does anyone have some suggestions?? Thanks you guys are awesome!
