Installing hang

Well while installing windows 7 on my new pc it hangs forever installing the same copy on girlfriends computer instant. takes forever just to load to keyboard information.

i have
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R
Corsair XMS3 CM3X2G1600C9 6 gigs
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+
Seagate Barracuda 7200 1 terabyte.
corsair 750 psu.
i7 930 1366
 
Hard to say exactly. Are you doing a clean install. Correct me if I'm wrong but it sounds like you aren't even getting past the first steps of the installation. If your PC is turning off then it could be overheating. If not, try a different dvd drive or different media.
 
How about something to go on? Is this a new build or just a reinstall of something that WAS working before? What version is your bios?
 
1) try different media
2) try installing only 1 ram stick and disconnect the hard drive. does it still hang after doing this?
