the x58a-ud3 is a very nice board, packed with value. you will be happy with it

i disagree completely with that statement.

i own a defective rev 1.0 ud3r that gigabyte rma department sent back to me improperly packaged and as fully operational. gigabyte customer support is in india and is aweful. many users of gigabyte x58 motherboards complain of boot loops, post failures, and squealing chokes, as well as poor support from gigabyte.

i advise you to avoid gigabyte, there are other slightly more expensive options for usb3.0 and sata 6Gbs motherboards. but with the extra cost comes a functional product and decent customer support, which is what gigabyte cannot deliver.

I own this board too, its the best x58 board I have owned to date, personally I would say you cant go wrong with it, yes you will get a few users saying it no good, but dont you get that for everything you can buy, obviousley on forums where people help others out with problems you are probably going to get more negetive responses than you are positive, otherwise these forums wouldnt even be here and you would have to just go on reviewa alone.

its really not the fact that this board failed on me that makes me dislike gigabyte. its the way that gigabyte customer/tech support dealt with it.

they told me that there is nothing wrong with the motherboard and that if i have any problems with it one of my other components is to blame. and this is after i explained to them that i did thorough troubleshooting of my system and the only part that did not work was the motherboard. this board failed 5 weeks after purchase, well within warranty. a new replacement should be provided without any hassle.

if they would just honor the warranty that i bought with this motherboard there would not be an issue. its theft and false advertising. its like they do not care about repeat business.

if you look around the internet you will find that this is not an uncommmon thing with gigabyte. other manufactures take care of there customers problems, gigabyte does not.

is there a gigabyte representative on this forum?

the only ones i have communicated with have been indians that barely speak english and "cut and paste" emails telling me to call the indains that barely speak english signed gigabyte support.

i mean i would like to talk to someone from gigabyte that actually has a name.

I have not had any problems with this board. Good quality, great price. I have heard some of my friends that their customer service is a nightmare though...
