Hello there folks
just got a 100/100 fiber connection and my old Dir-615 didn't cut it any more. So fool like I am I searched for a bit and found out about dir-655 which should in theory have like 300 mbps throughput. I went and bought it but sadly I can't get my wireless over 40-50 mbps using local speedtest...
I have TP-Link TL-WN851N card in my rig and DIR-655.
I turned off, WISH, Traffic Shaping, WEP and WPA (no password) and QoS and a few other stuff. I set it to 20/40 Hz as well, but my wireless is at best 40% of my wired connection.

Perhaps I shouldn't expect so much. Never had this fast connection before but I thought some 70 mbps were realistic. No idea.

Any settings on my wireless card I could change perhaps?

For now I'm running with cable...

Distance between router and PC is some 2-3 meters with an wooden box in between.

Any tips would be welcome. Thank you for your time!

You're talking about local traffic right, not internet?

Talking about internet, I use this page:

http://www.bredbandskollen.se/

to test my speed.
It maxes my wired connection (through router) but wireless falls short even though distance is no less than 1 meter ( I moved the router ) and there is nothing between PC and router

Anyone? Is 100mbps using wireless impossible?

Yes it is but you don't have 100mbps worth of internet speed. It'll only go as fast as your service will.

Perhaps I miss wrote but I have 100 Mbit/s connection. And using the site I mentioned before with wired connection I get up to 95 Mbit/s. Using wireless, router being 1 meter from my PC I get at most 55 Mbit/s (that is with everything turned off in the router).

I bought this router as I was under the impression it could handle at least 200 Mbit/s over wireless.

I was just wondering if I didn't do enough research and 100 Mbit/s over wireless is impossible?
