Any ETA's on the GeForce 5? Are they still supposed to have QDR and .13 micron technology?
Nvidia is on a 6 month product cycle so in the fall maybe nv30 (gf5).
No idea as to what the specs will be.
Maybe they will just put out a GF4 ti 5000 or something and the nv 30 next year.
I think it will probably depend on what ati comes up with.

I have some insight to that. The micron Technology will still be at .15 as .13 for video cards is still about a full year away. QDR is a possiblity, but SLI is likely to be the big step for that Series, if its not done in the GF4 revisions.

Nvidia is NOT on a 6 month cycle anymore. They released their Geforce 3 10 months ago, so they can't sitll be on the 6 month cycle.

They released the GF3 10 months ago to the general public, but We (work) had our hands on one before that. Nvidia goes by when they actualy release the chip to be used, not when the maufacturers of vid card get around to putting it to use.

6-month cycle goes NEW VERSION for the early part of the year, then ~6 months later a supercharged version of it. ~6 months from there, a new version comes, then a supercharged of that ~6 months later.
Maybe GT but if ati pulls off a GF4 killer that nvidia can't overcome by mear supercharging they might go for the nv30 early.
Guess we will know in the fall :)

After this release of the GF4, Nvidia is now back on a twelve month product cycle while they crawl to get the NV30 ready. The NV30 will be a revolutionary upgrade from GeForce4 and I highly doubt that it will be called GeForce5 since this GPU boosts a 100% new architexture.
When Nvidia went from a 128-bit interface to a 256-bit interface, they renamed the TNT3 to GeForce256. Now, I think going from 256-bit interface to a 512-bit interface, they will rename the GeForce5 to something else.
NV30 is called Eclipse, I dont believe that is the new official name but rather a step model name like the CRUSH which is nForce. But Eclipse would be a cool name eh!? :)
