ive having a hard time finding a wireless network card that is pretty much Plug n play i have to get it to work from our computer room upstairs to my room downstairs thanks the room is almost straight down from the other one

most of them are plug and play, what brand of router do you have? Sometimes it is best to just go with the same brand for compatibility.

well if the rooms are straight down and a few floors apart it can help to re-orient teh antennas so they are horizontal. It makes the coverage more vertical, of course if you have devices that are far away on the horizontal plane you might end up affecting their connectivity as well.

You'll probably have to find a router with 2 or 3 antennas and put one horizontal for second floor (and make sure that it is parallel with the upper floor antenna) and others vertical for first floor.

If you have a window next to router, you can get an extension cable (I'm using one that's over 10 foot long) to raise an antenna to the window height of the second floor and keep it vertical so it can cover the whole second floor.
