post your DSL benchmarks PLEASE!!

my friend just got dsl and I am about to get the same connections speed. It advertised for 786/384 kbps

he just got his today and it didnt look at all like we hoped for.
we tested it here http://www.dslreports.com/stest and got ~300/100

he pings 100 in a TFC server where we normaly ping 40 in and he can only d/l at 80kb and u/l at 12kb doing a peer to peer connection

we where hoping for a stable yet fast connection.

is this normal for this speed???

All these results seem a little slow. I got about 1200-1400 at home. Now that I am at college i get 2000/3500 average it does vary some here.

ok I just got my dsl today and get about a 630/301 at dslreport

I think we found out why the ping is sooo bad

THEY ROUTE IT ALL THEY FROM TO PHILLY!!!!you got it on the other side of the US!!!!!!!! I did a IP trace and thats what I got.
there is a nother dsl company here in town they I did a trace on there addy and they route it through LA. I dont think they will let me cancel my dsl account sense its that 1 year contract thing:( .

for now on Im going to run a trace on every connection I get from now on:cool:

I was just playing in a CS server and got 40 ping so thats not bad for information to travel across the U.S. 2 times:D

I will see if I can get some pic up for a better understanding of whats happening

now does ANYONE know why they would route it all the way to philly???????
