It's about the only thing I am still unsure about in the purchase of my htpc.

The G41 doesn't do any sort of hardware video acceleration, so it would depend entirely on the CPU. Any reasonably modern processor should have no troubles with 720P, though.

Another vote for getting a cheap graphics card, 5450s are $45-$50 and 4350s are as low as $35 on newegg, so unless you are already getting a decent CPU for ripping and encoding video, a graphics card can't hurt.
