port 1 on my linksys router just seemed to have died today, as the computer connected can no longer connect to the internet and cannot see the network. So i switched to another port and all was fixed... so whats up with port 1? Was working fine yesterday.... any ideas? TIA :burn:

I have a switch that port1/uplink port took a dump on. I think ours got a surge though the cable modem. The other ports work just fine on it.

Ohhhhhhhh gawd Ayumi is hot.
Step 1: Do you get a link light when plugging the computer into the port? If yes, go to step 2, otherwise, you have a bad port.
Step 2: Do other computers work with this port? If yes, then port is good to go! If not, go to step 3.
Step 3: Check the pin/wires on the port. Are any of them bent? If not, port may be bad. If they are, bend them back to normal position. Start back at Step 1.
Lol I'm going to do the rest of my posts in this fashion.

that would be a big negative on other computers working on the port. Port 1 is the only port that doesn't work for some reason... and no theres no physical damage to the pings... so i think its just dead. :(

prolly just went belly up...
Not the first time I have seen this, and it will not be the last...
Sometimes the ports just die...
