Outlook Problem - Outbox not clearing?

One of my users's outboxes will never clear even though the recipients are reporting receiving the email. Outlook reports a warning wth the yellow exclamation upon sending but does not list any error for me go to by. I have never seen an issue like this before. He has to manually clear his outbox otherwise the same message keep sending out again.

Outlook Express 6.0 on XP Pro

Delete the account settings and recreate. Also check AV programs. They many times have issues and will fail to notify OE that the message was sent, so OE keeps trying.

I will try recreating the account. I have AVG on his computer and always have unless a recent update caused this?

If that does not work, delete the Outbox.dbx file. The next time you start Outlook, it will create a new, empty Outbox. Sometimes that folder get damaged/corrupted. I have yet to see this occur in Outlook 2010.

I did not try the last option but I set him up on Thunderbird instead which seems to be working just fine and he likes it better anyhow. :thup:
