Terrible 3d mark 2001 score on Geforce 3 system Please help !

Hi there, i recently built myself a new system all my components are listed below but for some reason despite my components, as you can see below. My 3D mark score even without 32 bit textures or anti aliasing and only on 1024 768 is still only 2900 ! I have recently changed my OS to win 2000 prof, and I think this may have had an effect, I cant be sure though because 3d mark always crashed when I was running 98. If anybody has any ideas or anyway I can troubleshoot my system please, please let me know. Thanks alot if you read all this !!

Do you have SP2 installed for Win2k and the latest 4in1s installed (without AGP support)? You will also need the AMD miniport AGP driver.

SP2 ? 4in1s ?? er im real new to this so could you clarify exactly what those are ?? sorry for sounding like a newbie dumb ass

Ooop sorry :). Forget sometimes.......

SP2 is Service Pack 2, it's a must for Windows2000, particularly if you're planning on gaming at all.

The 4in1s are a set of drivers that are required for the VIA chipset (which your board has). You can get the latest version here (http://downloads.viaarena.com/drivers/4in1/4in1437v(a).zip). Just install these (but untick the AGP driver option, you DON'T want to install this part).

Because your board is a hybrid between VIA and AMD, you will need the AMD miniport AGP driver. You can get the Win2k version here (http://www.templintech.com/files/amd/miniport_522_win2k.zip).

This should help performance a lot :)

Hi again, sorry about this ,ive got one more question, my internet connection at home sucks so I cant really use the express installation of SP2, my work conection is very fast though so can I download the network installation and then use that to update my home pc (as this option does not require an internet connection after the initial download) or will this not work, Hope that made sense ! thanks again.

i scored 7304
