Newegg PROMO code: EMCYVYZ29 (10% off, works for any HDD actually)
EDIT: Sorry there's a typo in the title, its $49.49, didn't mean to get people exicted :(.

Yes, it is.. didn't catch my typo though I can't change the thread title I put a note in my original post. Thanks for noting that!

Happened to me before, called Newegg up and they applied it to the order before it was charged, love them :).

I just ordered one for 55 bucks. The code didn't work for me and when I clicked on the contact newegg link it said their servers were down. I'll try to call them tommorow and get them to fix it, for store credit if nothing else. I knew I should have bought two drives instead of one on the black friday deal. Anyways I hope this raid is gonna be close to going ssd.

You'll get good STR (which only helps in certain realworld situations but always look nice in synthetic benchmarks ;)) but unfortunately there's no way you'll get near an SSD's fractions of a millisecond access times with mechanical drives.
wtf - mine came with a pretty big dent on the side and also a scratch in the black area.. who packs those things?? haven't put it in yet - about to do it now, but wondering if i should bother at all..

Even if it works and you keep it there is the possibility that it craps out within the warranty period and WD wont honor a warranty on a physically damaged product. Return.

it's working fine, but that's what i was thinking too - will contact newegg for an exchange.

Of course you also do not get reduced performance because you wrote to a cell one time, limited space to hold files, and are not restricted to windows 7 without secure erasing your SSD once a month.
I use both... my "performance rig" however uses Vraps because SSDs are still too "delicate"
****, I need another HDD too :( I love my 640gb black, awesome drive, best 7200rpm out there.
newegg chat agents a real dicks.. a second agent just left the chat just like that and this is the second time they do that. the replacement disk that arrived today was damaged as well.. i guess they got a whole container full of them because the antistatic bag of this one looks like it's been hit and scratch multiple times.. the POB has a huge dent in it as well.. i'm thinking to swap the POBs but i guess that will violate the warranty.. so now i am calling newegg to send me a total of 5th replacement hard drive - isn't that bad luck or what??..

Thanks for mentioning this. This prompted me to take a careful look at the 2 drives I got in this deal. I don't want to break the seal on the anti static bag at this point but nothing seems visibly damaged through the bag. Were you able to spot the damage through the bag (before removing it)?
