I thought I'd share some pics of my recent quad-riding trip to the Oregon coast dunes (near Coos Bay/North Bend). The pictures can't quite convey the awesome beauty that is the Oregon coast, I can't wait to go back next year! :D

I grew up in Oregon and the coast is a beautiful place. Great pics! Makes me a little homesick.

No problem. Head a few miles inland and Oregon has those too. :p http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oregon_Coast_Range

That looks like amazing fun! We have something like that here near Chicago called "The Badlands" out in Indiana. I've never gone to them yet because I don't have any ATVs but I really want to someday.

Your pictures are amazing by the way. :)

I lived in Springfield for a year (1994, was 9-10 years old) and spent the weekends camping all over Oregon with my family. The places between Florence and North Bend were always my favorite places to go, and the place where I fell in love with quads/motorcycles.

Thanks for looking and thanks for the comments, it was an amazing trip! I miss it, lol.

Every day was pretty much this: wake up and eat, go for a ride, come back and eat, go back out for another ride, come back and eat, go for an evening ride and then come back to drink and BS around the campfire. I just got into riding quads last summer, the red 400EX in the pictures is mine. This was my first time riding on real dunes, back on Memorial Day the same friends and I did a short dune riding trip at Moses Lake, WA. That place is a kid's sandbox compared to Oregon. I've heard that St. Anthony's in Idaho makes Oregon look like a sandbox in comparison, we might go there next time.

We've done a lot of trail riding in Washington, there are some good riding areas around here. I'm not sure which I prefer, trails or dunes, both are a blasting fun good time.

The sand in Oregon was amazing, it looked like mounds after mounds of cinnamon sugar, compared to Washington's sand which is gritty, dirty, and in the case of Moses Lake fairly ashy. And Washington state's beaches? Disgusting compared to Oregon. :)

Most of those pictures were taken with my buddy's Nikon, 12mp IIRC. The ones without the timestamps were taken with my Evo.

Tell me when you want to come to Dumont, Ill meet you out there! Dumont is about 1 1/2 hours outside of Vegas, not a bad drive at all.

Pretty big, of course not like Glamis, but its alot better than Oregon dunes (although not nearly as pretty, and no beach :( ). I told my wife our next dune trip is to Oregon :D

I would highly recommend Florence/Winchester bay it's such an awesome place to ride. My buddy had a Honda 400 EX with gear and exhaust mods (such a perfect balance of power and maneuverability). There's a place called Sand Lake Just a couple miles north of pacific city just an 1 1/2 hour drive from either Salem or Portland. I used to go there a few times a year but i've got no health insurance so i've been avoiding riding. ( i miss it so much :( )

dang those photo's from your EVO look dang nice (for a phone anyways) makes me want one even more.
