View Full Version : Internet disconnecting at 8PM most every night

I've been having a strange problem with my internet connection (AT&T DSL) where almost every night, my connection will drop at exactly 8PM. The light on my modem goes red and then it cycles back on and re-connects and then everything is typically fine (although it has dropped again later in the night on a couple of occasions). In 6 of the 8 days I've been keeping track of it, it drops at 8PM exactly. Any idea what could be going on?

Searching for "Post Inform - reason 4 VALUE CHANGE", based on your log yielded some results:

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r20357850-Random-Drops
http://broadbandreports.net/forum/r20843845-Modem-Modem-rebooted-itself-again
http://www.broadbandreports.com/forum/r23197398-Line-Problem-Orange-Park-32065-unstable-connection

That is the only real error that I see in your logs. I would start with completely resetting the router to factory settings to see if that helps.

Thanks, something I noticed in one of those links is that someone said the problem may be related to connection speed. I have been using AT&T DSL for over a year without many problems but within the last month or two, I upgraded my speed. You reminded me that I haven't done a hard reset of my modem since upgrading, so I just did it, we'll see how it fares at 8PM tonight! Thanks for the help and I'll keep this thread updated with the latest info, if anyone has any other thoughts, let me know. :)
