ARGH!!! Lockups!

Hey guys... I'm now running 1265MHz!!! 8.5x149!!! I dunno why but my computer started mistireously locking up! I don't understand y... My temps are pretty high... but not high enough, I'm running 49C at the most & I don't get it my comp was running 100% stable at 59C now it locks up at 49?? That doesn't make any sense.. I dunno what to do, except overclock a lil less...
What do u think it could be?
I do know that I need better cooling, and now trying to get a water block. W/O money and living in Israel is hard to get a WB (they don't sell 'em here :()...

Darn too bad yur in Israel as alot of sellers won't ship to the middle east as of Sept 11th :(

All I can say is that the heat is really acting up and it doesn't matter what temperature it is. Anything over 45 is hot and you CPU will act funny at anywhere there.

Are you using an in-socket diode to measure temps could not be accurate.

Better cooling.

Pass Prime95 for a few hours and the comp will not lock up. If it still locks up after you've passed prime torture then there is something else going on.

My 1.2 could only pass prime @1.42 when it was running @ load around 45c but now that my load is in the mid 30's (36c prime after a long time) I can add 60 mhz to my stable overclock.

BTW now both your systems are locking up so it could be a different issue? Sorry I'm not much help here...did you ever get your duron HDD working or are you still doing that network sharing deal could that be the problem.

Do you have stock cooling on your northbridge? I got better results after cleaning the white goop off, and applying AS with a razor blade. Worth a shot ;)

I solved that problem, firstly by borrowing a 850MB WD from a buddy... that solved my main problem but then all tha could fit the HDD was the OS and the OS alone, so I went & found another guy w/ a not in use half dead non bootable (LOL :p) 2.5GB WD... now the duron has the OS on the 850 and all the other stuff like games, F@H and swap file on the 2.5GB... a guy I know sent me his fully working 3.2GB HDD will be propably getting it real soon.

I do use the stock cooling, its like those HSFs that come on vid cards... a piece of metal w/ a screaming lil fan on it... in my main rig the fan started to make a lot of noise. its propably just dirty.. I dissconnected it and had no difference in temps... I never had any problems... The thing is that the comp was running 56C full time w/o a hang! now it locks up.. I think that its mostly my PSU that's giving up on me. when I tried to set higher Vcore I heared my fans slowing down and comp not booting... as soon as I get the chance I'm going to get a 400W PSU, that I hope will be a brand 1. Wish me luck
