This is a very good deal on an extraordinary camera.
Refurbished camera and lens = 30% cheaper than usual. This is cheaper than the refurbs typically go for.

Ken Rockwell says it's the SLR for the money and the 2nd best you can buy(The D90 being twice the price would be number one)
I just pulled the trigger on one and am very excited, thought I'd pass along.
Seriously if you are on the fence about a camera this is the time to act.

It's a nice DSLR and good for the money, but it is not the second best DSLR. This is a lower end option.

Dang it, don't tempt me to spend money! I've seen this deal before. I want that camera and exact lens, and I'd get a nice 35mm fixed lens to round it off. Need one before my summer road trip.

This is a good deal overall, but maybe #2 in the entry level category but none the less a good buy.

For those of us who can't afford or justify a D90, it looks like a bargain and probably a heck of a lot better than point and shoots in the long run.

It's a very capable little DSLR in the right hand! And I have the proof!

if you have a Nikon all Nikon lenses should work fine. its the cameras that change not the lenses

In that case, very tempting.

D5000 is an upgraded version of D60, it indeed is a better camera than D40x.

Kind of an old post but since i was looking for a camera and thought,"hey maybe some kind person over at OC may have found a good deal?" And this is what i find. It seems to still be in stock only it's $519 now. Almost got an Xs for a $150 off craigs list but it sold before i could get it.
