If I get a card that was already OC'd by the manufacturer am I able OC it more or is the card "locked"?
I was talking to a friend about this and he told me 9/10 times that the card wouldn't allow for more OC'ing.

i bought the HIS 5850 in my sig its factory oc to 765mhz and i have it at 800mhz oc using msi afterburner. so your friend is wrong(not insulting)
problem is with most factory oc cards you dont get voltage controll its locked like mine is but i can oc a lot higher without any voltage tweak so it doesnt matter.
if i were you i would buy a reference card not a factory oc'd one for the voltage tweak

All right, I'll see what I can do with this Gigabyte card.

I always choose factory OC GPUs that comes with modified Heat sinks & fans,Ref cards tend to get hot easily, cooler GPU,better Gaming fun:rock:
